I found this rather small Bibio-like fly against one of our outside walls at Leerdam, Netherlands, today. Length appr. 8 mm. Could this be female Dilophus? Yes, Dilophus female for sure, the difference with Bibio lays in the end of the fore tibia. In Dilophus there are a lot of smaller spines, in Bibio there is one big hook! Greetings, Gerard Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
