In 2 separate samples from freshwater habitats I collected in each of them 1 single pupa with the shape as seen on the photo. The long thoracic horn appeared to be diagnostic for a a Dasyhelea species, but the caudal end apparantly not. However, I could find a description of a Dasyhelea (i.e. D. gluchovae) in Tsalolikhin (ed., 1999) which appears to be identical to my specimens. 2 small lateral lobes at the end of the anal segment fits perfectly. D. gluchovae is not a species from our fauna (The Netherlands) and consequently not this species. Does anybody know what species or perhaps subgenus I might have? Perhaps another member of subg Dicryptoscena? Both pupa were collected in seemingly permanent waterbodies.
