Hello,

this couple was mating on March 30 beside our garden pond in Hannover, Germany. The female is about 15 mm. I think they are Cylindrotomidae, perhaps Phalacrocera replicata?
Is it possible to confirm it?

Thanks for answers!

Hans

Hi, according to Wikipedia there are only 4 Cylindrotomidae species in Germany.
Perhaps that makes it easier for a dipterist?

Best regards,

Hans

Didn't see this post.

It does, and more of it there is only 2 species that are black.
This is indeed Phalacrocera replicata, a specie i haven't met yet Wink
