Hello everyone, and best wishes for this new year, it is rich in entomology! I present you a hoverfly that I captured in French Guiana in 2009 on the station Nouragues. Anyone know the species? Probably Palpada. The North American Eristalis transversa also has a transverse stripe on the thorax, but such markings are more typical of Palpada.

There are over 100 neotropical species of Palpada. I don't know how many of them look like agrorum. |
