this fly was hanging round some larger Bibio types on a clump of nettles. Box Hill Surrey

this is not Bibionidae fly. I would say Sciaridae.

Mite - typical phoresy in diptera. Wink To spread to other locals. very improbable to be some kind of parasitism here.
