Hello!

I think this small black fly (I mean the upper one ;-)) belongs to the genus Cheilosia. Is it possible to say which species? Thanks in advance!

Dear Juergen,

Difficult, if not impossible, to tell from a picture which species it is, but it's definitely a species of the scutellata-complex and most probably Cheilosia scutellata, but you can't rule out C. soror.

Thanks a lot, that is more than I expected.

Best regards,
Jürgen
