Holopogon chalcogaster (Dufour), male. Yes, this is a fabulous asilid! The dorsum of the abdomen should have a brilliant, metallic-violet sheen. The antennae have a unique shape for the genus Holopogon -- which is why this species is sometimes placed in its own genus Pseudoholopogon. A very nice photo Nimou.
