Hello experts in the diptera.info forum, I observed this large Asilidae (?) on Menorca, having caught a Polistes dominula. Is family Asilidae correct? Can the genus be determined from my photos? Observation details: Spain, Menorac/Balearic Islands, macchia/dunes close to the south cost, 24.08.2013. Yes! Pogonosoma maroccanum. Did you collect it? The prey is a Vespidae wasp. Looks like Polistes. |
