unidentified fly with lumps

Hi,

Please could anyone id this unfortunate fly...and im not sure if the lumps are just dirt,or something more interesting?
I found it last week in some mixed woodland in Sussex...possibly about 5mm.

From some of the previous post I think it might be conlcuded that this is a Fannia. The dirt at the tip of the wings and the fact that the wings have not completely unfolded indicate that this fly had problems emerging from the spot where the larva pupated. It just could not get out quick enough.
