I am always grateful when someone makes or confirms an identification for me and usually post back a "thank you" reply. However I'm aware that this bumps a resolved thread back to the top of the list. Is it acceptable to just put a "thanks in advance" comment in my first post and only post back if I have further questions?

I support this request! Sufficiently resolved threads should "rest in peace". Only those that need another reply or get a new comment should return to the top of the list. Our politeness creates too much unessential replies. |
