Hi,

Can anyone help to id this?
Found resting on canvas beside a pond in rural north Cornwall,probably about 6mm from memory.
pic taken on the 21st feb.

A female Ceratopoginid midge? But could well be a strange Simuliid midge as well. These two families are very closely related.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
