Hi. I was hoping someone on this forum could help me identify the attached hoverfly. The photos were taken last weekend in Singapore. I've seen a few photos online identifying it as a hoverfly but no one has a specific ID. The fly was seen in low grass. It is a bee fly belonging to Bombyliidae. Guess it is a Ligyra sp.? |

Thanks @chickenold for setting me straight on it being a bee fly. I did some more research after reading your reply and found a similar looking bee fly on diptera.info at the link below and it looks like the same specimen and is mentioned as possibly Ligyra oenomaus.
