Hi! this is my first post so please be gentle. the image is taken in 31.may.2006 in Romania, Costanta county in Canaraua Fetii reserv. i only know that this is probably a soldierfly (Stratiomyidae). maybe a more complete ID? cosmln p.s. sorry for my english cosmln attached the following image:  [92Kb] Edited by cosmln on 20-03-2007 20:34 |

I think this could be genus Lasiopa.

Outside my field of knowledge, unfortunately. These nice flies are sooo few in numbers here in Finland (both species and specimens) that one hardly remembers they exist
