Cophinopoda species. Two species are known from Japan: oldroydi and chinensis. Tsacas & Artigas (1994) offer the following key:

(male)

Absence de dents sur le bord supérieur interne de l'épandrium, extrémité des dististyles, en vue caudale, droite ou courbées .... oldroydi

- Une dent médiane, triangulaire sur le bord supérieur interne de chaque côté de l'épandrium, extrémité des dististyles, en vue caudale, courbée vers l'extérieur .... chinenis

(female)

13. Sternite VIII, échancrure médiane à bords plus ou moins évasés, 2 ou plus épines latérales ... oldroydi

- Stemite VIII, échancrure médiane à bords arrondi; une, rarement 2, épines latérales .... chinensis

But I am not a specialist of flies, so this is not easyfor me to define which species.

As far as I understand the etext in French, I am not sure that you can see the species from my pictures.

But maybe somebody can help?
