Hello, this about 5 mm long fly I photographed at 27 July on the flowers of Arctium tomentosa in northern Germany. Is it possible to identify the genus or even the species?
Thanks and best wishes, Frank

Hello, Frank!

Terellia tussilaginis??

P.S.: To my knowledge, family Trypetidae does not exist any more. It's now Tephritidae.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Certainly Terellia tussilaginis Jurgen; and more: the family exists, and even the name Trypetidae; just as a junior synonym of the Tephritidae. Cool
