A friend of mine took this pic in England, Ramsbury near
Marlborough in Wiltshire to be precise. It appears to be a caterpillar of some sort, found on Poplar leaves. Has anyone ever seen this beastie? Thanks!

Hello
this caterpillar seems to be the Notodontidae Cerura vinula, but it's not easy to be sure with this back see.

Cerura vinula lives on Popular, that's corespond with your observation.
