Good Day,

How are you?

I am new to insect collecting, and am interested in collecting Culicids as my first Dipteran family.

However, I am not quite sure I understand the mechanics of collecting such a fragile-seeming family. Are they suitable for pinning? With which size pins?

I believe that I may be able to contribute some information about South African species through my collecting attempts.

Any information or advice would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Johanan E. Viljoen
