I'm a PhD student of webmaster drawwing.org (Adam Tofilski). I working on automatic identification of Syrphidae using this very promising methodSmile Probably method can be useful in many other Diptera families.

Lukasz

on home page:

At the moment DrawWing is designed to work with honeybee

I assume it counts number of junction points, distances, proportions, possibly, if super inteligent, scan lines from photo, convert that to formulas of bezier curves http://en.wikiped...zier_curve (see some cool graphics in the midle of page )and drop all that to db, for later comparison.
