I need help to identify some species of Diptera, which photographer in Brazil, and I ask to the members of this forum, starting with a kind family Asilidae, I photographed in March 2012, in Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro, the city where I live.

Here is the photo:

if the nails are blunt, they are Amblyonychus
if they are sharp Promachus

I thing they are Amblyonychus

Unfortunatly, the details that are showed in photo do not permit to detect the kind of nails they have.

yes, I am agree with Eric. I think these are an Amblyonychus sp.
