Hello J?rgen Thanx for your post.:-) Today I found another picture of the same(!) fly. I photographed this picture 2-3 minutes later. The quality of this photo was bad. Therefore I packed it into the second file "failed photos". Perhaps does one see more now? best regards Markus Markus Gebel attached the following image: [57.87Kb] |

Or perhaps Phaonia rufiventris, which is supposed to have narrow dark bands across the abdomen on the margins of the tergites, as seems to be the case in the upper photo. See also this thread: http://www.dipter...#post_7264, with an interesting discussion about the characters of P. subventa and P. rufiventris. http://slamenietd...web-log.nl |

Hello! If I read it correctly, Phaonia subventa often has a black band in the middle of the abdomen, which I believe to see on the first photo. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
