Hello, These two are from the same location, near a little pond at the edge of a forest in Southern Limburg (Vijlenerbos). The first was seen in June, the second in September. Ben Ben Hamers attached the following image: [67.6Kb] Edited by Ben Hamers on 21-05-2012 19:55 |

Hi Ben, Both specimens seem to belong to the group of Geomyza annae/balachowskyi/hackmani/martineki. It is difficult to give a positive id from a picture. My best guess would be Geomyza hackmani/martineki for the first one and Geomyza balachowskyi for the second. If you collected the specimens, they can be identified by the genitalia. Jan Willem |

Thanks Jan Willem, The animals were not collected. I came there during the summer about two times a month and almost every time I saw a Geomyza, but always only one. Ben |
