Hi everyone,

I have the opportunity to reside in the South of France (Racou, south of Perpignan app. 5 km from the spanish border.) Now I can choose between 24th of April till 7th of May or between 20th of May and the 4th of June.
Which of the two would be the best for finding diptera (or any other kind of insect for that matter)?

Thanks for any help!

Personally I'd prefer the first period, except maybe in case of an extraordinary cold spring... Have fun!

I really only have experience of further north in France and further south in Spain, but my suspicion is that you will be in heaven whichever period you choose. Perhaps, like Andre from Tillburg, a slight leaning towards the earlier period.
