I think this s a different Cicadellidae species.

If someone comes up with a good Cicadellidae expert, please share the info with me, I have 100+ Cicadellidae images waiting for identification.

Hi,
i have an information from insektenfotos.de.

"Rhytidodus decimusquartus, a member of Cicadellidae, Idiocerinae. I guess you collected it at light or in an evening room with open window. Lives on Populus nigra (including italica) and overwinters as adult. Zikade #1 is female, #2 is male.
Watch for Acericerus spp. in Gdansk, also in lit rooms during evening. None of the species is known so far north in Poland, but they all might occur. You can find a number of photographs in this forum.
Herbert Nickel"

Hello Robert,

your Cicadas are, as I see them, Cicadellidae - Idiocerinae - Acericerus. My guess would be A. heydeni, but I'm quite good in confusing A. heyedeni with A. ribauti or some other species.

A good Cycadist who often is willing to comment on fotos ist Herbert Nickel from Germany, His mail addy published on the web is herbertnickel[at]gmx.de.

All the pictures of Cicades I took those evening you can find clicking by link.
Temorarly I published them toegether. It could be easier to classify.

Do you mean:
- the red/brown one (last 4 pictures) is Cicadellidae->Idiocerinae->Rhytidodus decimusquartus - female?
- the gray one (first 5 pictures) is Cicadellidae->Idiocerinae->Acericerus spp - male (probably Acericerus heydeni)?

Best Regards

Hello Robert,

now that I read the thread on insektenfotos.de (hello J?rgen ;-) ), I'm a bit puzzled but I'd say they could all be Rhytidodus.

cheers - martin adler
