this fly is known here in the south of Portugal as a "fruit fly" by the farmers, is it a Eristalinus megacephalus?

wowow! Syrphidae fly! Mas nunca vi um sirf?deo quase albino. It seems almost similar with sepulchralis? |

Hello, Very nice photo. E. sepulchralis should be more black and smaller, I think. On the other hand, E. megacephalus is not mentionned in both books I use (Stubb and Van Ween). It is present in Portugal according to Fauna europaea. Pierre Duhem |
