Looks more like Coleoptera. What size was it and how was it found?

Thanks for Tony. I am not sure it belongs to Lepidoptera. Could you tell me the reason of your decision.
The larva collected from rice field in soil. Length about 0.5-1cm。

If it was a Lepidoptera caterpillar, there should be abdominal prolegs - this has no prolegs, so I think it is Coleoptera. The large shield on the last abdominal segment suggests to me it might be a young scarabaeid larva, but I'm not sure.

It doesn't look like a scarab larva to me. Too elongate, and too hairy for most groups. The legs are also not scarab-like.

Best regards,

Scarabaeoid
