I found this insect sitting on the wall, inside my office today (on the island of Crete, in Greece). It measures about 15mm, without the antennae. I think it belongs to order Trichoptera. What do you think?

And you are rightNice clear pic, which should allow id to genus. I'll try to find an expert if no-one else succeeds. Robert |

Thank you Robert! I wasn't expecting an ID to genus level, but if you can find anything out (even family), I would certainly appreciate it! When I first saw this insect, I thought it was a lacewing (order Neuroptera), but after I saw the photo on my computer I realized it wasn't and I went digging around to find out what it was. After a while I came to the conclusion it might be Trichoptera and I just needed confirmation on that. Thanks again! |
