Hello, I found this fly dead in the water of a pound in the north of Morocco, in the rif, about 1700 meters above the sea, in a forest of Cedrus atlantica and Abies maroccana.

Does anyone know the subfamily, tribe, genus or specie?

If more photos are needed I have.

Thanks.

Olá Carlos. Do you also collect in Morocco?

Thanks a lot Piet for the determination. Andre, I have been in Morocco three times, and I have some insects (include dipters) from the north to south.

If you have Syrphidae and Stratiomyidae from those trips, I would be very interested to ID them for you.

Greetings, André
