September 26, 2006, Side, on Ficus carica at the parking lot.
The size was not recorded as in threads that will follow, sorry, but it was pretty typical for jumping spiders.
Salticidae, maybe a Menemerus?

YES. Menemerus cf. semilimbatus !! fantastic spider!!! seems a male -not sure if palps are tick. if so, then it is a male. Smile

Salticidae spiders have those two great eyes. to distinguish from lycosids by the eyes it is enough to see of there is 4 eyes below the two big eyes. Not here, Wink so salticid. Then the cephalotorax (prosoma) has a square form, salticids have this feasture. Smile

see here:
http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/menemer/semi-kph.htm

For Menemerus semilimbatus we must see an inverted triangle (if we see the spider with face in front of us) in dorsal view in prosoma.
But the all thing seems to be really Menemerus.

Thanks Jorge - I've got a checklist of the Turkish spiders somewhere, will check if there's more Menemerus spp. recorded.
