Showed up at lights. Open area near forest, Montagne de Kaw, French Guiana, 31 May 2011. Measured 5.8 mm. Help! What is it?

Thanks, alexaandru! My first thought was Cercopidae, but I have looked at hundreds of pics in that family with no luck.

Lucky guy - I would love to go back there some day Smile Would be good to see more of your photos too, if you have them ... I might remember a few of the localities myself.

I would expect it to be more in the direction of Issidae, based on my limited knowledge of the Palaearctic fauna...

Thank-you Paul, I will look at some Issidae images.

Chris, yes, I have enjoyed seeing your French Guiana pics. And I too would love to go back, so much pristine forest! (Good food too!)
