Hello,

I know it's Staphilinidae, I know it's Stenus, what I don't know is wether it's Stenus biguttatus, comma or longipes or even some other one that's not in Frank Koehler's site. Can anyone tell? And how?

Hi Andr?, this is Stenus bimaculatus. Very good photo - you can see the special characteristics: yellow spot, fold on the tergit, colour of the legs. Best regards Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks. I just sent you a better quality crop of this image for your gallery. Can you just clarify the tergite bit for me, because I can't see any difference with the others.

Hello Andr?, thank you very much for the photo.
Stenus tergits: you have no fold, three or four folds. If three, there is usualy on large fold in the middle an two smaller folds. Best regards Frank
