I work with fossil insects and came across what I believe is a marine fly pupa. It is from Arviat, Nunuvut area collected inland from the base of a soil profile. The sample contains both terrestrial fossils as well as marine algae and unknown marine? pupa. I would appreciate help in identifying the pupa, even if it is just to family or better genus. The green grid lines are 1 mm by 1 mm. Thank you very much! Alice I am new to this site and am having trouble attaching the jpgs. Hi Alice. Check the size of the jpg. If its too big it simply just doesn't attach. |

There were additional dots (.'s) in the file name and then it certain to fail. They are not allowed to prevent rogue files being attached.

Ephydridae; genus not sure, but looks like Scatella. Try again in the larva section. |

Thank you atylotus member! I had almost given up trying to attach my unknown pupa jpg and asked Paul Beuk to attach it. I hadn't realized the syntax was so critical in file attachments. I thought I was being spam filtered out with regards to attachments. Back to you and your help. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This site is fantastic once you learn how it works. |
