This larva was living in muds and wet ares.
Elevation 1650 m.
2009 July,26
Turkey-Karaman (Middle Anatolia)

My guess is Stratiomyidae.

good guess. indeed Stratiomyid and looking at the shape and color it must be Stratiomys. As i'm not familiar with the Turkish fauna I will not say anything about the species name, but to me it looks a bit like S. longicornis, but it may be some other, except S.singularior. The ones in the birds beak are also Stratiomyidae larva, but the genus is unknown, but resembles Stratiomys.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
