I would think this was a Tipulidae, but I've no real hopes of getting an ID given the poor photo. Photographed in mixed woodland on the banks of a small stream near Rome, Italy. Body about 7 mm long.  Thanks, Sarah |

It is certainly not a Tipulid fly in its strict sense. It is most likely a Limoniid crane fly. |
