This is the second time I've seen this. Has the aphid been attacked by a pathogenic fungus which then makes the fruiting body underneath? This was on the underside of a leaf, the first one I saw was on a vertical fence. Ignore the mites that seem to be joining in. Brian V.   |

Nice and focust shots of some kind of miets, too! They must be in the 0.2-0.4 mm range unless this aphid is one of the larger species. |
