Any ideas as to the id of this ichneumonid? Not particularly large: 10-15mm size range. Note orangy-brown front tibia and tarsi. Other legs mostly black, but with some brown. With any luck Camille will be able to give us an idea but if not then you could try it on the HymIS forum There are very many similar (nearly identical) species so it is a difficult group

Yeah, if it is Cryptinae then it seems you are onto a looser there Basil - too many species & not enough keys, let alone libraries of identified photos etc.

Well, if taxonomy won't give it a name, perhaps I will: It's a YANUIT (Yet Another Nameless Unidentifiable Ichneumon Thing). Shucks. Why did I even bother to photograph it? |
