When ever I see this many abdominal bristles I think of Tachinidae, plus this fly has bare arista. Still, I have been fooled before by bristly flies. Is this Tachinidae? Any way to take it to subfamily or genus? Probably hard from a photograph. Smaller than a house fly. Photographed beside a mountain river, West Virginia USA, 26 August 2006. Thanks for any ID help!
