Two Nemotelus flies close to each other in the same Daucus carota flower. I suppose they are a male and a female N. panthericus, which have a strong sexual dimorphism. Quite small (about 4mm), near the sea in Portugal.

Thanks,
Joaquim Gaspar

No confirmation? I never thought it was so difficult!

Same as the other recent Nemotelus: N. nigriforns or N. pantherinus. They may not even be the same species. Top one does not appear to have white markings above the antennae (N. nigrifrons[/i]), bottom gives impression of being N. pantehrinus but, unfortunately, there is just too much blur in the picture.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
