May I ask what 6011480 stands for? I understand it can't be a date or even photo file number, unless you have taken more than 6 000 000 photos Smile

When I shot film I used a code that was a combination of the roll number and frame number. So frame 35 on roll 2034 would have the number 203436. I kept notes on all the settings and correlated with the code. When I later got more and advanced cameras that recorded the data that I could just download to the computer, then I needed to separate the separate data streams, so I put a one in front of this number so not to confuse and get duplicate numbers. eg 1203436. I was actually using 3 cameras at the time and had some other prefix number for the third. When I started using digital cameras, I again needed to keep the numbers separate so they would never overlap. with a Fuji I gave a prefix of 4, d70 was 5 and d200 is 6. So starting with the first shot of the d200 it would be 6000001, and I am now up to 6012793. Currently I have less than 120,000 images, and so it unlikely that the numbers from different cameras will ever overlap.
