I was told that this may be in the Sciomyzidae family. Size 6-8mm located in wetland habitat in Chicago, IL. Any ideas?

It isn't Sciomyzidae, but Tephritidae. For more precise ID you have to wait for expert, I'm not at all Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
