Loc. Slovenia, diameter ~ 30 mm, height 15 m. This was found a week ago, and now it is empty, did not unfortunately look in when it was a time.

Any idea what this is ?

I suppose that it is a kind of moth cocoon. But its high (15m)awkward too much for a cocoon.

confirming that that was spider egg cocoon. Opened one just like that today and inside a bunch of 1 mm spiders running arond. With remains of white eggs and all inside of coccoon filled with some purple grainy stuff, mybe food for small spiders ?

Mybe araneus species ?
