Hi this syrphidae is a very special one for me :-) Found them looking through the pics of 2009. Could it really be Lathyropththalmus aeneus? In my syrphidae-book it is written, that this syrphidae should be predominant in the near of coast but sometimes far of the coast too. Or could it be a similar one, the Eristalinus sepulchralis . . . or am I complete wrong . . . ? Switzerland, near lake Zurich, in my neighbours garden, 05.09.09, 412 müM Thank you for help and ID! Genus name nowadays is: Eristalinus. Species: sepulchralis. Gender: male (in the male the eyes are separated, almost like in females, which is a good way to distinguish it from aeneus) |
