Not an anthomyiid, the calypters are too large and the wrong shape and the abdomen has many erect tergal setae. perhaps a tachinid? |

It is like the novel of Edgar Allen Poe, you know which language it is not, but you don't know what it is. It is not a Tachinidae, in my opinion. The arista is plumose, calyptra rather small..... SO a Rhinophorid, a Calliphorid ..... ? Theo T |

Thanks Theo. I hope this means that it is an interesting species. I'll try to collect some next time. At first I thought it was an anthomyiid because I think it is the same species as the one on another thread I posted in 2008 in which Nikita said it was that family: http://www.dipter...d_id=13319 |
