Dear all

I was wondering if someone on here could help. I'm primarily interested in beetles, but I've come across some very interesting flies from Malaysian (Cameron Highlands) malaise trap samples. See the photos below. There are two species and both appear to be chrysomelid mimics. The extent of the mimicry is astonishing, especially when you consider the 'elytra' are actually a massively enlarged scutellum.

Does anyone know what genus these species belong to, as I can't find anything on the web?

Any help and information greatly appreciated.

Brilliant, thanks, Gerard. Are there any works on the biology of these flies you know of off the top of your head?

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
