My little inquiry concerns the milichiid D. sordidum (Fallén) if anyone happens to have a surefire reference specimen nearby.

What are the colour of its tarsi? In Bei-Bienko it is claimed that its legs are all dark, but at least in southern Finland all the specimens that are supposed to be that species seem to have at least partly yellow tarsi.

So is there variation here and who is mistaken?

I think Bei-Bienko is mistaken: http://milichiidae.info/content/dessordlatjpg.

In the Desmometopa sordida specimens I have studied, the tarsi are dark on the dorsal side, but on the ventral side they appear yellow, mostly due to yellow setulae.
