Photographed in my home garden today. IT was 6-7mm in length. They were in good numbers this morning. The day before was a very rainy one. Is this a Dipteran?

wings number isn't always easy to see but: - very thin first terguites of the abdomen - eyes situated at the sides of the head Though there are exceptions, this two things point at Hymenoptera Look at this one, for instance, itīs Tachysphex (Hymenoptera) but with fly-like eyes http://www.insect...earch.html By the other hand, your picīs one has spectacular antennae; more than 3 segments are Nematocera (in Diptera) Regards  (Oh, a better answer appeared while I was writing, sorry) Edited by paqui on 19-09-2009 19:14 |
