The closest I can get using "The Colour Identification Guide to Caterpillars of the British Isles" by Jim Porter ISBN 0-670-87509-0 is Feathered Ranunculus, Eumichtis lichenea, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Hi Gordon...I've looked at all the bumph on UK Moths which says that one is only found in Southern Britain, with some in NW England and Wales...it is a coastal species though feeding on Sedum Acre and Thrift, both of which are growing in my garden...so Gord knows??? Haven't found a photo to compare it to as yet. Will plod on...
Regards Roger
