Salut Camille,

http://www.entomologie-stuttgart.de/ask/node/687&menu=ste

Amicalement,

Pierre

Thank You, I guess it means it is Malthodes holdhausi but only genital examination would make it sure. I speak only german and english Smile

Species within the generea of Malthodes and Malthinus are generally undeterminable from photos.

Xespok, which you say is known as in the text of Pierre! Cool

"It is well Malthodes, I have of them some which has a texture of élytres like that.
Many does not have clear spots at the end of the élytres, like Malthodes holdhausi, which has same colouring as that of the photograph:
http://www.entomologie-stuttgart.de/ask/node/687&menu=ste

However Malthodes are identified only with the male genitalia (it is rather characteristic besides), and I do not know keys for the females! "
