Paul, I tried the upload button, but again there is no image in the preview (I did follow your advice on image size). So I'm using direct link again Thanks for tour ID's P.S. I have more photos to submit, but I do not want to overload your site. Some ara on my own site, others not. What is your policiy on these matters? Regards, Dimitri |

The preview button does not work with attachments. Attachments are only uploaded when the message is posted to the site (perhaps unfortunately but it would be difficult for a CMS to remove the image if you were not satisfied). 2. You can only attach a single image to each message. If you want to post more images in one thread and use attachments, you will have to do it in two messages. 3. Please try to keep the maximum widt of an image at 600 pixels, anything more will really strech the window too wide. 4. You can post as many images as you like but it makes more sense to do a few every day that post all 20, 50 or whatever in one go. It keeps the site much more interesting if we can have something new every day. 5. Pictures on your own site should have your copyright and you are free to do with them whatever you like. You may link to them here in the forum. I will make backup copies for the use in the forum, just in case the images on remote servers are moved or renamed and the links in the forum are broken. 6. Pictures on other sites may be linked but only with a complete link in text as well and preferably with permission of the owner. If they are your own images, then there is no problem as long as copyright was not transferred to the owner of the other site. 7. I will never claim copyright of images on this site, unless they are my own. If someone insists that his/here image should be removed, then so it will be. 8. You robber fly, I think, is Laphria flava but since I am no specialist in that family I will not be surprised if someone tells me I am wrong (I think that only happened twice in this forum, so far ). Thanks Paul, for the very complete explanation. I'll do my best to comply. i.e. I'll re-dimension my images to 600px wide for direct posts. However, on my web site the images are (almost all) 666 x 500, so I'll refrain to link directly to them. Of course, you're free to pick them up youself, resize and use them for your data-base if you find anything of interest. Just mention the copyright (and ID if undetermined). I've edited my profile to add my site's URL, for direct access. Best regards, Dimitri |

Alright, Dimitri, but through 'edit profile' (top right), you can create a signature for your posts and include the lnk there as well.
