2-3mm tiny black fly, found in coastal prarie (approx 50km south of Houston), Texas. I'm afraid I can't even tell what family it is Sad Originally thought it was chloropidae, but the costa is not broken. Any ideas would be welcomed. no oral vibrissae present. I'm afraid the speciemen is not in the best of condition.
Thanks for looking. Smile

Maria, try to see if you can match these parts with the characters you will find in keys for Lauxaniidae.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
