Dear diptera friends,

can someone confirm the identity of this tachinid fly.
picture from today 29th march 2009 at Oostduinkerke, Belgium, coastal dunes.

I cannot exclude distinguenda from these pictures.
Locality strongly suggests ornata indeed.

Can frontal views (better views of the cheeck) or views from the back (better view of the tergites) help to exclude G. distinguenda?
I'll check my other pics if i can find something usefull.

Actually, I had a better look at the second pic.
It is ornata for sure .

which shows the very narrow face, as compared with the parafacialia, very nicely, again implying ornata.
